I've said before that I believe a person who reasons there is no God is simply not good enough at reasoning yet. New ideas are useful mostly to the degree we expand on them and turn them into actions. A man with a library card doesn't need a school just as a man with his bible doesn't need a church. Neither institution is always perfect but that is not to say that these institutions cannot be tremendously beneficial.
If you are an outgoing type I encourage you to find a church family that suits your personality to enjoy and learn with others on the journey to fill that innate emptiness and yearning in our souls because it's easy for us to fill that void with darkness, destructive behavior and the trappings of worldly self gratification if we don't choose otherwise.
If you are less outgoing and prefer a lot of self time and more one on one interactions then a good study bible and the company of some great Christian writers like C.S. Lewis surly will not do you any harm. I've spent most of my journey in this category. I still encourage you to seek a community of like minded people to enjoy this time tested nourishment of the soul together though. As Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "We must also consider how to encourage each other to show love and to do good things. We should not stop gathering together with other believers, as some of you are doing. Instead, we must continue to encourage each other even more as we see the day of the Lord coming" [God's Word translation]. My study has convinced me that community is one of God's many gifts to us that it is there for us if we wish to enjoy it.
